How the Other, Other Half Lives

The talk will focus on the state of the least wealthy half of US households over the time from 1989 to 2016.  In addition to high-level descriptions of distributional change, the talk will describe some of the important shifts in demographic composition and portfolio holdings. The Survey of Consumer Finances with his long history provides the foundation for the analysis.
